Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, has attributed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s peaceful sleep to the leadership of Godswill Akpabio as President of the Senate.
Senator Bamidele said this on Monday while congratulating Akpabio on his 62nd birthday at his Abuja residence. The event, which was attended by top government officials, including the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the newly appointed Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, was an impromptu gathering of senators, political associates, and friends of Akpabio.
According to Senator Bamidele, one of the reasons President Tinubu is able to have a good sleep is because Godswill Akpabio is President of the Senate. This remark highlights the confidence and trust that President Tinubu has in Akpabio’s leadership, which has contributed to the smooth operation of the Senate.
The event was also an opportunity for Akpabio’s colleagues and associates to celebrate his birthday and acknowledge his contributions to the country’s legislative process. The Senate President’s leadership has been a subject of discussion among politicians and analysts, with some commending his ability to manage the Senate and facilitate the passage of key legislation.
Those in attendance at the event included the Management team of the National Assembly, political associates, friends of Akpabio, and staff of the Office of the Senate President led by the Chief of Staff, Sylvester Okonkwo, who presented birthday card and gifts on behalf of the staff.
