As Nigerians celebrate Christmas, former Senate President Ahmad Lawan has emphasized the importance of unity and tolerance in the country’s progress. In his Christmas message, Lawan extended heartfelt greetings to all Nigerians, particularly the Christian community, as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Lawan noted that Christmas is a time for joy, love, and giving, and also a time for reflection on the importance of peace, unity, and tolerance in the nation. He acknowledged that Nigeria is currently facing challenges, including economic difficulties, but emphasized that it is in such times that Nigerians must come together, putting aside their religious and ethnic differences, to work towards a brighter future for all.

The former Senate President urged Nigerians to embrace the principles of love, compassion, and forgiveness, as embodied in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. He encouraged Nigerians to strive to build a society where everyone feels valued and included, and to learn to respect and appreciate the diversity of the country.

Lawan stressed that unity is the bedrock of any successful nation, and that when Nigerians stand together, they are stronger and better equipped to overcome any challenge that may come their way. He called on Nigerians to use the Christmas season to bridge the divides that separate them and to build a truly united Nigeria where all citizens are treated equally.

In addition, Lawan reminded Nigerians to remember the less fortunate amongst them during the festive season, and to reach out to those in need and share their blessings with them. He encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period as an opportunity for introspection and renewal, and to commit to living in peace and harmony with one another.

Lawan’s message is a timely reminder of the importance of unity and tolerance in Nigeria’s progress. As the country navigates its current challenges, it is essential for Nigerians to come together and work towards a common goal. By embracing the principles of love, compassion, and forgiveness, Nigerians can build a more harmonious and prosperous society for all.
