In fulfilling the pledge and commitment to the needs of the NEEDY in the society, Nurses Across the Borders in collaboration with the Dreams to Reality Foundation has donated food items to patients at designated hospitals in Benin city.
This Philanthropic gesture which took place on Monday, 23 December, 2024 saw the two organisations move from ward to ward dropping food items to the patients for their Christmas celebration.
Pastor Peters Omoragbon, President, Nurses Across the Borders International who believes in the biblical saying that Blessed are the hands that giveth than the ones who taketh said that the gesture was in fulfilment of the yearnings of those in need. “It is fulfilling our pledge and commitment to the needs of the NEEDY in our society, so Nurses Across the Borders in collaboration with the Dreams to Reality Foundation donated food items to patients at designated hospitals in Benin city. Blessed are the hands that giveth than the ones who taketh.”
This charitable gesture which was aimed at putting smiles in the faces of patients in Benin City, Edo State this Christmas, was carried out in 10 selected hospitals.
Those captured by the two charitable organizations were patients hospitalized in hospitals in Benin City, Edo State and their families alone.
Also the hospitals that benefited from the largesse were both public and private and captures both patients and their relatives as many of those hospitalized are bread winners of their various families who should ordinarily be providing for their wards this Yuletide but could not do so due to no fault of theirs.
Pastor Omoragbon further revealed that the items distributed were food items and incredients.
He stated that the two organisations resolved to take the route of sharing food items to patients this season because they believed that the best gift God gave to mankind was and is Jesus Christ.
Pastor Peters Omoragbon also appealed to well meaning individuals and organisations to partner with the group in order to make sure that the less-privileged in the society have food on their tables during festivities like Christmas. “We invite Partners and collaborators. What you make happen for others God make happen for you.”
Handing over the items and speaking on behalf of both Princess Elizabeth Ebun Okojie, Leader, DRFN and Pastor Peters Osawaru Omoragbon, Executive Director, Nurses Across the Borders International, Mr. Victor Ogba, South South Coordinator for Nurses Across the Borders International said, “We are here to share the joy of Christmas with you, you are here thinking this is the end of the world, but we have come to let you know that you can still do Christmas like any other person.”
Responding on behalf of other patients, wife of one of the patients thanked the group profusely. She said “Thank you, thank you on behalf of all the patients, God will bless you people in Jesus name, you will not lack, you will grow more and more in Jesus name. We are grateful, God will protect you as you go back in Jesus name, Amen.
