Matawalle gets commendation for attracting N2.250bn hospital project to Maradun

A group, the Maradun Youth Concern Citizens (MYCC) has praised Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, for obtaining Federal Government approval for a N2.250 billion hospital project in Maradun, Zamfara State.

Comrade Ahmad Muhammad, the group’s convener, hailed the initiative as a transformative move to address the area’s long-standing healthcare challenges.

The contract, awarded to Messrs Century Information Systems Limited, allocates N1.3 billion for construction, N208.8 million for furnishings, and N500 million for advanced medical equipment.

Expected to be completed within 18 months, the project is poised to significantly improve healthcare services for local residents.

The group said the former Zamfara governor has also prioritized enhancing security in Maradun by instructing security agencies to clear previously inaccessible roads, facilitating safer travel and fostering greater economic and social interaction.

These actions, the group said, aims to restore public trust in the region’s transportation infrastructure, adding that the Minister has also revealed plans to establish a naval force in Maradun to further strengthen regional security.

Pending state government approval, the initiative would deploy over 1,200 naval officers with advanced military equipment. Once operational, the naval base is anticipated to bolster security and contribute to lasting stability in the region.

The MYCC expressed appreciation for the hospital project, recognizing it as a clear indication of Dr. Matawalle’s dedication to his constituents’ well-being.

Comrade Muhammad also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the project, underscoring the Federal Government’s commitment to equitable development in underserved areas.

The group further commended Dr. Matawalle’s contributions to federal initiatives in Zamfara, including major highway projects, enhanced security measures, and plans for a naval base at Bakalori Dam. These efforts reflect a comprehensive approach to addressing the region’s infrastructure and security needs.

Muhammad described the hospital project as a “beacon of hope” for the people of Maradun and Zamfara State, urging all stakeholders to support the initiative, which he believes has the potential to transform the region’s socio-economic future.
