Don’t embarrass FCT in Holy land, Minister charges Christian pilgrims

The Minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Mariya Mahmoud has called on the intending 2023/ 2024 Christian pilgrims to the Holy land to heed to the laws.

She urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and steer clear of acts that will embarrass the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nigeria.

Mahmoud gave the charge on Thursday, while addressing the two hundred and ninety intending pilgrims from FCT to the Holy land to perform the Holy exercise.

The Minister also charged the intending pilgrims to pray for Nigeria and the political leaders during the pilgrimage.

She noted that pilgrimages are very important spiritual exercises and that pilgrims should make the best of it.

In her remarks, the FCT Head of Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo reiterated the need for every pilgrim to pray for Nigeria, charging the pilgrims to take spiritual responsibility while in the Holy Land and make the best of the pilgrimage.

On her part, the Director, FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Gloria Dandam who was particularly thankful to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and the FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud for facilitating the trip, said the trip was not an ordinary trip but a spiritual journey that must be taken serious.

The chairman m, FCT Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN, Dr Isaac Komolafe told the intending pilgrims to ensure there are no absconding.

Recall that the long awaited 2023/2024 pilgrimage was put on hold due the Israel and Gaza conflict.
