Chief Emeka Egwuekwe, Managing Director (MD), Prince Interior Furnishing and Furniture Company Limited, Abuja, has urged the Federal Government (FG) to provide incentives to Nigerian manufacturers to boost the country’s economy.
Egwuekwe’s company is one of the leading furniture manufacturers in Nigeria, providing training in furniture and welding works, and creating employment opportunities for numerous individuals.
While addressing journalists recently in his office in Abuja, Egwuekwe emphasized the need for the government to prioritize local manufacturers by providing incentives, patronizing their products, and offering tax incentives. He also stressed the importance of reducing the high electricity tariff, which he believes would serve as an encouragement to manufacturers.
Amongst the key demands by Chief Emeka Egwuekwe, include providing incentives for local manufacturers; providing financial incentives to support the growth of local industries; patronizing local products, by encouraging government agencies to prioritize the purchase of locally manufactured goods.
Others are in the areas of tax incentives, by offering tax breaks to local manufacturers to reduce their financial burden; supporting local industries, by providing necessary support to enable local manufacturers to continue contributing to the economy; reducing electricity tariff, by lowering the high electricity tariff to make it more affordable for manufacturers.
By supporting local manufacturers, he went on, the government can help stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and reduce the country’s reliance on foreign goods. As Egwuekwe’s company continues to thrive, it serves as a testament to the potential of Nigerian industries to drive economic development.
