Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his unanimous election as the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. This milestone achievement underscores Azuta-Mbata’s exceptional leadership qualities and his ability to unite the Igbo people.¹
Azuta-Mbata, a former senator representing Rivers East Senatorial Zone, was elected by the General Assembly of the apex socio-cultural organization of Ndigbo in Enugu State. This election is a testament to his dedication to the Igbo community and his commitment to promoting their welfare.
Kalu commended the organization and the South East Governors’ Forum for ensuring a free and fair election. He praised their efforts in upholding the principles of democracy and promoting unity among the Igbo people.
The Deputy Speaker expressed confidence in Azuta-Mbata’s ability to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new role. As a former member of the National Assembly, Azuta-Mbata possesses the necessary skills and expertise to effectively lead the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
