Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has challenged the newly appointed commissioners, chairmen and members of the Governing Council of Tertiary Institutions in the State to view their appointment as a responsibility, a call to serve with diligence, transparency, and accountability; and not a privilege.
Mutfwang stated this during their swearing in at the New Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos the State Capital.
He said, “This event is not just a routine government function; it is a testament to our steadfast commitment to good governance, efficiency, and the collective aspiration of our people to see a government that truly serves their interests.
“Over the past 20 months, the people of Plateau State have placed their trust in us, giving us a clear mandate to rebuild, restore, and reposition our beloved state.
“This administration was birthed by the collective will of our citizens, and we remain resolute in our mission to rekindle trust, inspire confidence, and reclaim the lost glory of Plateau.
“
“I have no doubt in your capacity to deliver. Your expertise, integrity, and dedication to the public good will be instrumental in ensuring that we leave behind a legacy of service and excellence.
Speaking to the Chairmen and members of the Governing Council of Tertiary Institutions in the State, the governor said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved appointments.
According to him, “You have been carefully selected based on your vast knowledge and experience, and I trust that you will drive the much-needed reforms in our higher institutions.
“Education remains a cornerstone of our development agenda, and your mandate is to reposition our tertiary institutions to equip our youth with the requisite skills and knowledge to compete globally.
“I urge you to bring your expertise to bear in revitalizing the education sector and making our institutions centers of excellence.
Mutfwang further stated that, “This is a call to duty, an opportunity to serve with distinction and leave a lasting impact on our state. Stay focused, remain dedicated, and let the spirit of excellence guide your actions.
“As we embark on this journey together, let us remain steadfast in our vision to build a Plateau State that is accountable, progressive, and reflective of the values and aspirations of its people.
“Through our collective efforts, we will establish a government that prioritizes sustainable development, good governance, and the well-being of all citizens”, he assured.
“May your tenure be marked by excellence, commitment, and transformative contributions to the growth and prosperity of Plateau State”.
