Ahead of the Anambra gubernatorial election on Nov. 8, a pressure group, known as the Igbo Political Voice (IPV), on Sunday identified with the restoration manifesto of the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s governorship aspirant for the election, Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu.
IPV, said that, Ukachukwu’s agenda that focused on security, economic activation and social welfare, aligned with the people’s aspirations and should be the people’s choice.
The IPV Convener, Chief Eneast Ikenazor,spoke to the Authority newspaper against the backdrop of the feasibility of aspirants’ programmes and its alignment with electorate aspirations in the state’s off cycle elections.
Ikenazor, whose group carry out public education to aid people make informed decision at elections, said that, the state has been having security challenges in the recent times and would need workable programmes to get it back to track.
According to him the emergence of Ukachukwu an experienced technocrat as winner will bring those laudable programmes to reality.
“Ndi Anambara is appealing to APC to give him the needed support to enable him bring those idea’s to action,” he said.
Meanwhile the governorship hopeful, earlier said that prioritising the state’s security was essential to attract investments to the state and to create jobs for youth.
Ukachukwu, a former Abuja Municipal Council (AMAC) Chairman and a former House of Representatives Member for AMAC/Bwari, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has presented his agenda to Anambara people, tagged restoration agenda.
He said that, his is passionate for the state and would ensure that security of life and property in the state was guaranteed to make the state an investment hub.
According to him Anambra, has both human and natural resources that can be harnessed and turn the place into real sector and tourism economy only if investments are secured and life protected.
“My ambition to impact lives of Ndi Anambra positively is driven by love to rescue our state from state drift, that predisposes it to instability.
“The institutionalisation of a better welfare package for workers and aged persons will be ensured to return ownership of the state to the people.
“Qualitative education will be put in place to enable to equip people with skills to sustain the state’s economic drive.
“We shall explore potential in the renewable energy sources to ensure steady electricity power supply and at affordable,”he said.
He noted that the state needed to be opened up with the establishment of industrial clusters in ,Ekwulobia,Ihiala,Otucha and Umunze towns to boast economic activities
