Commissioner for Information
Anambra State said the native doctors are undergoing documentation.

The statement read:
“On Monday, 17th Feb. 2025, the 3rd Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) Meeting reiterated that the State Government is documenting practitioners of traditional medicine (native doctors) and not registering or granting them practice certificates.

“Thorough investigations of native doctors in custody suspected of being quacks or criminals are ongoing, and those found guilty will be subject to the full force of the law.

“As mandated by the Anambra State Homeland Law 2025, the Council also instructed Anambra communities that might be documenting non-indigenes to do so without charging any fees and to view the process as entirely a social responsibility rather than a means of making money.

“The Council also approved requests from certain communities for the Anambra State Government to take over their community secondary schools, which they had built and maintained. The Government will upgrade the schools to the level of the state’s public secondary schools, integrate their teachers into the teaching workforce, and hire more teachers where necessary.
