It is now very clear even to a doubting Thomas that Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu remains the only candidate with the charisma, wherewithal, capacity, political clout and machinery to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming November, 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
It is without apologies that I describe him as the rock of Gibraltar in Anambra State politics having at various times in the annals of the state supported political leaders in the state irrespective of party affiliation all with the unbiased objective to ensure that Anambra is working for the progress and development of the people.
However, even before the present political dispensation heralding his entrance into the race for the off cycle gubernatorial election in the state, Prince Ukachukwu has worked very hard knowing that political victory is not given alakat, it is not given; one must work hard for it. No wonder his name and person resonated very high at Awka during the APC secretariat commissioning on the 8th of February, 2025. Prince Ukachukwu, it is on record, received the most accolade and the most cheer during the gathering.
During the visit of the immediate past Governor of Kano State and National Party Chairman of APC, His Excellency Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Ukachukwu did not only redeem the whopping N30million donation he made to the party, Prince Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma Ndigbo) also capped his address with a promise to erect a more befitting permanent office complex for APC in Anambra State whether he gets the APC ticket or not. He was adjudged by the majority of the mammoth crowd that attended the event as the man most qualified to pull Anambra State out of the woods.
Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu emphasized the importance of unity within the party and the need for collective effort to ensure APC’s success in the upcoming November 8 governorship election.
He stated that Anambra is due to be connected to the national political grid as it would strengthen the political ecosystem of the state and foster economic and infrastructural development. Ukachukwu urged all members to continue working together to ensure victory in the upcoming November 8 governorship election. He also reiterated his dedication to bringing development and positive change to Anambra State; he said that a united APC is crucial for achieving these goals. He maintained that the focus of the party should be more strategic on how to win the election, noting that it will require commitment and selfless dedication to make this a reality.
To demonstrate further his characteristically human nature of appreciation, Prince Ukachukwu commended the contributions of fellow aspirants, Sir Paul Chukwuma and Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, for their roles in securing and equipping the new secretariat, but he capped his address by pledging to erect a more befitting permanent Secretariat that is not a rented office for the party in the state.
His dignified boldness and unadulterated eloquence which is the hallmark of a leader is another great access which the Osumenyi born politician possesses, with this feature, he is able to convincingly sell his programmes to the attentive audience, when he speaks one is naturally compelled to listen.
Of course, haven impacted his community, local government, state and entire nation, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma, has demonstrated unalloyed commitment and capacity to lead Anambra State. His scorecards in public sector performance and his private enterprise achievements are bold testaments to his understanding of the position he is applying for.
His political and business credentials speak for themselves. Ukachukwu was Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), and he proved his exceptional administrative acumen by implementing infrastructural projects and social welfare programs that transformed the council. It is said that his leadership style, characterized by the elements of inclusive governance and result-oriented policies, earned him widespread acclaim and established his reputation as an effective administrator.
In 1999, Ukachukwu contested for and won a seat in the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing the Orumba North/South Federal Constituency of Anambra State under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). As a member of the House of Representatives, Ukachukwu was vocal on issues relating to youth empowerment, rural development, and infrastructure. He used his legislative platform to advocate the improvement of educational facilities and road infrastructure in his constituency.
Ukachukwu’s tenure in the House of Representatives was marked by his commitment to constituency development projects. He launched several initiatives aimed at providing basic amenities to rural areas, including the installation of water boreholes, electrification projects, and the construction of schools. His ability to effectively balance his legislative duties with his business endeavors made him a well-respected figure among his constituents.
It is pertinent to recall that in those days in Anambra politics, there are two families that determine the leadership of Anambra, Ukachukwu and Uba families. Ukachukwu family has since then invested much in Anambra taking care of the down trodden and massive economic empowerment of the citizens. Payment of hospital bills, rehabilitation of roads, various academic and apprenticeship scholarship programs, etc. all using personal funds. All these endeared him to the masses both high and low.
He has acquired the nickname of a grassroots politician, the first of its kind, who combined politics with philanthropy, a man who bear the burden of others as if they are his own, the downtrodden, the widows, the less-privileged, those with disabilities, the poor and the needy are in the majority of his payroll, he takes care of them and provides for them, making him a man with the best platform politically in Anambra State, no other politician in Anambra State can match his wide reach and spread.
His political trajectory is a testament of a proven track record of empowering communities and creating wealth, a businessman and philanthropist, he has invested heavily in education, infrastructure, and job creation, touching lives in ways few leaders have. His passion for development has already transformed many lives, and as governor, he will bring that same energy to drive Anambra forward.
Ikukuoma Ndigbo as he is fondly called is a very cool headed Godly Christian who is very passionate about keeping God’s injunctions for the betterment of man. Today, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has offered himself to serve Anambra people and Nigerians, let’s give him a chance by giving him the ticket of APC to contest and win the coming Anambra gubernatorial election. For me there is no better way to say thank you than to give him more tasking assignment so that he can lead us from Agu Awka, the government house, because he stands out as the beacon of hope.
As it is in the public domain, immediately he confirmed his aspiration, over10 grassroots support groups across the 21 local government areas in the state have come together, pledging their full allegiance to his vision of a prosperous, industrialized, and people-centered Anambra State; the youth movements, market women associations and professional bodies, have all acknowledged the leadership of Prince Ukachukwu.
It is a truism Anambra is politically disconnected from the national power structure, limiting opportunities for the state. Prince Ukachukwu understands that for Anambra to thrive, it must be strategically positioned to attract federal projects, industrial investments, and infrastructural funding. Without argument, his leadership will ensure that Anambarian are no longer left behind in national politics but are given their rightful place at the decision-making boardroom. He has the competence, compassion, and capacity, and these are the qualities that the state needs at this critical juncture.
The time for change is now. Ndi Anambra must rise and embrace a leader who is tested, trusted, and ready to deliver. He stands out among the crowd by putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged, and as the 2025 election draws nearer, the support base for Ukachukwu has continued to grow. Anambra as a whole bear his footprint in humanitarian and philanthropic activities.
It has been overwhelmingly accepted that it is only Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu who is qualified and well equipped to return power to the average citizens of Anambra who are the real owners and guardians of government.
The 2025 Anambra State Governorship election and the need for a credible candidate like Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu is not only a litmus test for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gain power in Anambra State, it will also mark the criticality and seriousness of the quest of the party to make a serious inroad in the southeast ahead of 2027 General election.
As it is today, two other southeast states have matched words with action, Imo State and Ebonyi State are now within the control of the party, Anambra State, which is seen as the base of the southeast region, is yet to be connected to the national political grid.
Anambra since the APC assumed leadership of Nigeria after the 2015 elections, the party has not been able to capitalize on this political advantage to win any election in the state despite parading a good number of political eggheads. It has been researched and found out that the problem of APC in the Anambra State is the obvious lack of internal democracy. Therefore as the November is approaches and party primary election quite at hand, it is time the party jettisons whatever primordial sentiment and make sure that a man like Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu is enthroned as the party flagbearer in Anambra State
A business mogul with a chain of businesses across the country, he has made great name for himself and made sacrifices for his people across the country. Without knowing it so many people are enjoying the goodwill of the amiable politician within and outside his state. It is a great testimony and an addition to his CV that Ikukuoma is one of the very few politicians in the Southeast who have won election outside the region.
Needless to make a careless mistake in the choice of a flagbearer, a credible flagbearer will definitely ensure success at the polls and send the present occupant packing. He has the competence, finance, capacity, reach, and most importantly, the perceived zoning arrangement in Anambra favours him. Ideally the party has to rely on Ukachukwu’s political experience to attract victory for the party in the state, indeed there is no better political tactician or strategist in the Anambra APC than Nicholas Ukachukwu. He is the only contestant with a political structure that has a state wide spread.
With what is going on in Anambra now, it is only Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma) who has the capacity to unseat the current governor.
That visit of the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje to Anambra State to commission the party’s new state secretariat in Awka and strengthen APC’s presence in the South-East was an eye opener for Ndi Anambra, it revealed one thing, it unraveled the unanimity, consensus, acceptability with the mammoth crowed that followed Prince Ukachukwu, it passed a message and it was equally sound, clear and identifiable.
They know that Ukachukwu is better positioned to help their destiny by initiating policies that will have far reaching effects on infrastructure, roads, electricity, education, healthcare, environment, he is the owner of Prince and Princess Abuja, a real estate mogul who has done well not only for himself, but also for his community, state and nation. An astute businessman, with wide network in oil and gas, the Osumenyi born political hero has also distinguished himself in the world of politics, he is a grassroots politician, the first of its kind, who combined politics with philanthropy, a man who bears the burden of others as if they are his own, the downtrodden, the widows, the less-privileged, those with disabilities, the poor and the needy are in the majority of his philanthropic handbook, he takes care of them and provides for them, making him a man with the best platform politically in Anambra State, no politician in Anambra State as of today who can confidently boast of the number of people queuing behind them than Prince Ukachukwu.
Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu is a man of sincerity who is not known grandstanding, political gibbering and loquaciousness, Ikukuoma Ndigbo promises what he can deliver, one can go on and on and on, in reeling out the resume of this man who has done so much, but suffice it to say that he is the man Anambra State is yawning, the man the cap fits.
