Ramadan: Governor Ododo calls for unity, compassion, devotion

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Muslims to embrace patience, sacrifice, and compassion, especially towards the less privileged, as they observe this year’s Ramadan fast.

In a message to the people of Kogi State, Governor Ododo emphasized the sacred significance of Ramadan, describing it as a period for spiritual reflection, worship, and self-restraint.

A statement signed by his special adviser on media, Ismaila Isah, quoted the governor as saying: “Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. It reminds us of the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and generosity; values that strengthen our faith and foster a spirit of compassion for those in need.”

He encouraged residents to promote love, peace, mutual respect, and understanding, emphasizing that unity across different faiths is essential for the state’s development.

Governor Ododo urged the people to use the Ramadan season to build stronger communal ties and contribute to the state’s progress and harmony.
“During this Holy Month, I encourage all citizens of Kogi State, regardless of faith, to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and mutual respect that Ramadan represents. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of our dear state,” he added.

The governor also called on Muslims to extend kindness to the underprivileged, promote justice, and pray for lasting peace, security, and development in Kogi State and across Nigeria during the holy month.
