From Everest Ezihe, Owerri
Evangelist Dr. Betram Uzodinma of the Royal House of Wisdom, a church that observes the christian sacredness of Sabbath day has dedicated a prestigious Award of Achievement he received as a Friend of the Palace Zone 9 Police Command Headquarters, Umuahia,Abia State to Governor Hope Uzodimma and Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma of Imo State for their commitments towards eradication of insecurities in the State.
Uzodinma made the declaration at Umuahia, Zone 9 headquarters last Thursday in his response shortly after receiving the excellence award from DSP Bruno Iheanetu, the Zone’s Public Relation’s Officer who represented, Mr. Isaac Akinmoyede, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Zone in the well attended ceremony.
“I dedicate this prestigious award to Governor Hope Uzodimma and CP Aboki Danjuma of Imo Police Command for all their efforts in fighting insecurities in the State and even beyond”.
He described CP Danjuma as an exceptionally humane police officer and patriotically dedicated to the job and Governor Uzodimma as a man of empathy and compassion to the needs of the people.
“If not that he deserves promotion and the need for him to grow professionally, Imo people would have loved him to continue to stay as their Commissioner of Police, Danjuma is a good man, very much accessible, compassionate and so dedicated to his duties.
“They gave me Achievers Award of Excellence as a Friend of the Zone’s privileged Palace, for me, I feel I have not achieved anything, because every day of my life, I feel am starting afresh. There are so many things to do and there are so many things yet to be achieved in the overall interest of God and humanity.
“Ironically, to some people, associates, friends and organization, they always feel I have achieved and done alot to humanity and the society at large.
“However, within me and the Almighty God I serve, I feel am just beginning. Because God has always assured me that certainly, the later rain will be greater than the present rain, and since God said it and I believed Him, thus why, when people applauds and appreciates me for the little God is using me to do in terms of impacting humanity and the society with my hard earned resources, I feels unperturbed, because I still have the energy and zeal, being apprehensive of God’s design and promises to me” he pointed out.
Uzodinma further observed that he however, feels highly honoured and appreciative, especially as the Award is coming from the Zone 9 of Nigeria Police Force, noting the eminent personalities that graced the occasion and good testimonies people gave about him and his Estate businesses.
He insisted that the Nigerian police are doing marvellously very well in terms of fighting insecurities and protection of lives and properties lamenting that there are bad eggs within them, like every other socioeconomic sector in Nigeria.
The award recipient further expressed his respect for Zone 9 under the watch of AIG Isaac Akinmoyede, commending that their men, are professionals with respect to human life and dignity.
“One thing perculiar with Zone 9 is that, they believe in thorough investigations, there are many a times you see a petitioner turning into a suspect because they discovered that the petitioner only wants to use the Police to achieve selfish interest or to unduly intimidate the suspect (s).
“They detests frivolous petition, no matter how highly placed, and they don’t unjustly intimidate people, am talking from personal experiences. They are focused and they focuses on the issues and operates like Department of State Service, DSS.
“They accord suspects respect and treat them like human beings. They are highly professional in terms of Policing, thus why, when they intimated me about the award, I never hesitated in accepting the honour, because it’s always good to identify with good people and good organizations.
“They hardly charge matters to court, they are committed in resolving the matters amicably in the overall interest of both parties, justifying the maxim that Police is your friend”.
He appealed to Nigerians to always pray for men of Nigeria Police Force considering the nature of their jobs and to stop seeing the men from a prejudiced mind set based on the inimical activities of few of them.
Uzodinma also reiterated his observation, that the obvious truth is that, most often, it’s the members of the public that forced Police men into corruption and compromise.
