The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a warning to students and the public regarding a fraudulent online message falsely claiming that its student loan registration portal is open, along with a misleading application link.
In a statement, the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, clarified that the information is false and urged students to remain vigilant against scams.
“We categorically disassociate NELFUND from this false information and urge students to be cautious of such scams. The only official website for NELFUND student loan applications and updates is www.nelf.gov.ng,” she stated.
Oluwatuyi further advised students and the general public to ignore any unauthorized links or messages requesting personal details or promising loan disbursement outside NELFUND’s official platform. She emphasized that accurate information can only be obtained from the Fund’s official website and verified social media channels.
