Kogi SDP Condemns Suspension, Recall Process Against Senator Natasha Akpoti

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State has strongly condemned the suspension and recall process initiated against Senator Natasha Akpoti.

In a statement released on Thursday, by the Publicity Secretary, Kogi State SDP, Isaiah Davies Ijele, the party expressed its “profound disappointment and outrage” at the actions taken by Governor Usman Ododo and Alh. Yahaya Bello, describing them as “demonstrably excessive and politically motivated.”

Senator Akpoti has been a vocal advocate for the people of Kogi State, championing their interests and addressing critical issues such as poverty, unemployment, and inadequate infrastructure. The SDP believes that the suspension and recall process are a blatant attempt to silence her voice and undermine her commitment to serving the people.

“The SDP denounces this blatant disregard for due process and the principles of fairness,” said Isaiah Davies Ijele, Press Secretary of the SDP in Kogi State. “We stand firmly behind Senator Akpoti and condemn this politically motivated attack on her character and integrity.”

The party called on iits supporters and all citizens who believe in the rule of law and fairness to reject this unjust attempt to silence Senator Akpoti.

The SDP vowed to monitor the situation closely and take necessary steps to protect Senator Akpoti’s rights and ensure that the recall process ends in futility.

“We urge the Senate to reconsider its decision and save our democracy,” the SDP statement concluded.
