Briefing newsmen on the Export Conference in Abuja, the Managing Director of NEXHUB Limited, Deacon Babatunde Faleke said the Conference would feature expert -led training, networking opportunities, practical guidance among others.
Deacon Faleke who described youths as drivers for economic diversification stated that the global market is for the youths and Nigerian youths need to take the lead in trading their talents hence the need for the conference.
“Nigerian youths are endowed with so many talents that needs to be shown to the world and we felt that there’s knowledge gap in terms of export especially the non-oil export and we’re looking at talking to Nigerian youths between the age of 18 to 45 years for two days virtually on how to export, what to export and where to export and meet industry leaders for more information on guidance and mentorship towards shaping them on issues and benefits of export of non-oil products and services,” he explained.
According to him, global market is big and this is the time for Nigerian youths to play an active role in terms of export of goods and services thereby contributing their quota to national economic development.
“The Minister of Youth, Mr Ayodele Olawande has endorsed the 2 days conference and he has given us the go ahead to engage the youths on export of goods and services to enhance economic development of Nigeria, therefore we enjoined all Nigerian Youths to register to participate through nextgen.nigerianexportershub.com”. the Managing Director stressed
Deacon Babatunde Faleke emphasized that the conference would go a long way towards making the youths global players in export of non-oil products because the goods and services are there and what they need right now is information, training and mentorship towards achieving the goals and objectives of export.
“They need to know what to do, how to go about it, when is the farming season, the export season, what value addition is required to make sure that products get more money,” he stated.
In his words “What we aim to achieve is to ensure that greater percentage of youths get engaged in the export of goods and services because the Federal Government already has a lot of programmes concerning youth involvement in export but they cannot tap into those programmes if they don’t have necessary information because there are loans and incentives as regards export but this they can only benefit if they know what to export “.
“They don’t need to carry physical product because there are lots of opportunities in the sector and any youth can be a logistics person, a value addition person, consultant, market researcher, event manager among others and if they don’t have the requisite knowledge, how will they benefit?.” Deacon Faleke said.
He therefore advised Nigerian youths to effectively participate and take opportunity of the two days conference towards making themselves self reliant and employers of labour through export of non-oil products and services in the country.
