A Bayelsa State High Court on Thursday upheld the suspension of a member of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), George Turnah.
The State Working Committee of the party had earlier suspended Turnah for alleged anti-party activities. Thereafter, a chieftain of the party in the state, Hon. Solomon Agwanana alongside some members of the party in the state dragged Turnah before the court.
Delivering udgement on the suit markedBYHC/YHC/CV/73/2025, the court held that, going by the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party, the State Working Committee has the powers to suspend Turnah.
Recall that another court in the state had a week ago restrained Turnah and his friends from holding a rally in Yenagoa the state capital, in support of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
