The leadership Forum of the Alumni Association of IMT Enugu (FAA-IMT) led by Mazi Dr. Agodi Kanu has presented the newly appointed members of FAA-IMT Board of Trustees to the IMT management.
The presentation was done on Thursday ,April 17, at the Council Chamber of IMT Enugu by the IMT Alumni President,,Mazi Dr Agodi Kanu,accompanied by his vice,Hon.Oliver Ngwoke and other national officers of the Forum of Alumni Association, FAA-IMT chapter.
Dr Agodi Kanu said the BOT members were selected from the six geo political zones in Nigeria, to ensure equal representation.
The newly appointed members of the Board of Trustee are Chief Dr. George Moghalu; Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah (FCA, CON); Dr. Mrs. Anthonia Ekwo; Mr. Frank Aigbogun; Mrs Agatha Nnaji; Mr. Michael Akinbola; Dr. Etofolam Frank Osuji (FCA, Mni); and Prof. Austin Nweze (PhD, FCA, FCTI, JP)
They were presented to the IMT management and subsequently sworn-in by the Rector, Prof. Gozie Ogbodo.
Among other dignitaries present at occasion were members of National Executive Council of the IMT Alumni Association, members of the IMT management, chairmen of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic and Non Academic Staff Union of IMT branch, and the Dean Students Affairs.
The Rector in his speech highlighted some of the IMT management achievements under his watch since assumption of office in November, 2024, among which are; securing full accreditation of all the academic courses being offered in IMT, installation of reservoir and reticulation of Public Water Supply to major parts of IMT, improved electricity supply to all the Departments and faculties, release of staff promotion interview, zero tolerance to examination malpractice (sorting, extortion), among others.
The rector used the opportunity to solicit for assistance from the Alumni members and urged them to always remember their alma mater.
In his speech, the National President of the Forum of Alumni Association of IMT Enugu reiterated his association’s readiness to give back to the institution that made them what they are in the society today.
The members of the BOT in their various acceptance speeches pledged to make the Alumni Association stronger and equally work towards uplifting IMT to enviable heights.
Thereafter, the IMT management led by the Rector took the Alumni members on tour of various Departments and establishments of IMT including the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Faculty of Art Design, Department of Mass Communication (where an edifice donated by the Departmental Alumni Class of 1996 was commissioned), and the ongoing Alumni permanent secretariat being sponsored by Dr. George Moghalu.
The highly elated members of the Alumni Association commended the Rector for the achievements made within the short period of time in office and urged not to relent.
