Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo’s, has announced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s scheduled visit to the state on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
Gov Soludo made the announcement while addressing Labour Unions members at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square Awka on Thursday, during this year 2025 Worker’s Day celebration.
According to the governor, the President will be visiting Anambra State to officially commission some of the completed projects his administration has executed so far within a space of three years in office.
“This is a proof that my administration is furging a partnership that works. I urged you all to give him a resounding welcome,” Soludo stated.
Meanwhile, Organized Labour in Anambra State has during the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration held at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, has bestowed the “Workers’ Beacon of Hope” award on Gov Soludo.
This they said was in recognition of his exceptional empathy, dedication, and unwavering support for workers in the state.
They express their sincere appreciation for Soludo’s prompt and thorough implementation of the 2024 approved minimum wage. While the national benchmark was set at ₦70,000, Soludo generously approved ₦82,000—the highest in the Southeast—and implemented it seamlessly across all sectors without any industrial unrest.
Additionally, they commended Gov Soludo for his visionary leadership and significant efforts to transform Anambra into a hub of economic and infrastructural excellence.
