Governor Uba Sani has credited Kaduna’s two-year stretch without sectarian crisis to the relentless support and grassroots intelligence provided by traditional rulers across the state.
Speaking on Sunday at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House during the official distribution of 23 vehicles to traditional leaders facilitated by Nigeria’s Speaker- Rt Hon Tajuddeen Abbas , the governor emphasized their pivotal role in sustaining peace and stability.
“For two years, Kaduna State has not recorded a single case of ethno-religious violence. This is not a coincidence—it is the result of strategic collaboration, especially with our traditional leaders who have been working tirelessly, sharing intelligence with security agents, and maintaining close ties with our communities,” Governor Sani declared.
He said the state’s non-kinetic approach to tackling insecurity—anchored on dialogue, trust-building, and local engagement—has proven effective largely because of the unwavering support of these royal institutions.
“Without the support of our traditional leaders, we would not have achieved the security stability we enjoy in Kaduna State today,” the governor added, praising their dedication and patriotism.
The distribution of the vehicles, according to Sani, is part of efforts to further empower traditional rulers to carry out their duties, including community monitoring, conflict resolution, and early warning interventions.
Kaduna, once seen as a flashpoint for ethno-religious violence, is now drawing attention for its remarkable peace run—something Governor Sani says must be protected and deepened through continued collaboration between the government and traditional institutions.
