Gov Ododo engages Adavi stakeholders, pledges inclusive governance, local empowerment

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday engaged with stakeholders from Adavi Local Government Area in a forum aimed at strengthening ties with local communities and advancing his administration’s grassroots development agenda.

The meeting, which took place at the Adavi Local Government Secretariat in Ogaminana, brought together traditional rulers, political figures, youth leaders, and women’s groups in a show of broad-based participation.

In a statement issued Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo, who earlier toured ongoing road construction sites in the area, reaffirmed his government’s dedication to infrastructure expansion, local capacity development, and inclusive leadership.

He assured that all projects underway across the state would be completed promptly and in line with quality standards. He highlighted the administration’s deliberate policy of involving local artisans and suppliers as a means of fostering community empowerment and boosting the local economy.

“We are not only building roads and bridges; we are building trust, inclusion, and ownership by ensuring our people benefit directly from the process,” the Governor said.

Ododo praised the people of Adavi for maintaining peace and unity, urging them to continue upholding stability to encourage further development efforts from the state government.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Hon. Bashir Rasheed Okatengwu, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for prioritizing the area in key sectors such as roads, education, security, and political representation.

He described the Governor’s leadership as purposeful and people-driven.

The event also featured the presentation of financial contributions by local leaders to support ongoing community development projects in the area.
