Sallah: CP felicitates with Muslims, convenes security conference

The Yobe State Police Command has emplaced robust security surveillance measures ahead of the Sallah festivities in the state. In preparation for the celebrations, the Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado convened a security conference with all Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, Heads of Departments and the management team across the state.

During the conference, the CP emphasized the command’s commitment to working closely with community members to sustain the relative peace in the state. He urged members of the public to use the occasion to pray for success in the fight against crime and insurgency-related matters.

At the conference, security tips for the festivities were unveiled thus: According to the press statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim and made available to newsmen, motorists and road users are advised to be mindful of reckless and dangerous driving to avoid accidents or unnecessary damage to life and property.
The command will strictly enforce law and order, and criminal-minded individuals are warned to desist from carrying dangerous objects in public gatherings and recreational centers.
Members of the public were advised to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or security formation.
However, the command has deployed security assets and personnel to praying grounds, recreational centres, and children’s playing areas.
Security agencies will be on high alert to prevent mischief makers and peddling of fake news or misleading statements to the public.

The Commissioner of Police expressed his commitment to working assiduously with the community and wished the entire state a happy Eid celebration.
He appreciated the state government for the unwavering support to security agencies in the state.
