In what may be described as a life time soul sanctification of peace of mind by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, two times President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Barr. Success Akagburuonye has revealed one of his greatest regrets in life.
Recalled that on Saturday May 24th, 2025, Obasanjo was Chief Guest of Honour during the dedication and commissioning of Noah’s Ark Church building philanthropically financed, built and donated to Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru Mbaise in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State by Akagburuonye as part of his kingdom investments mission and vision.
According to Akagburuonye popularly known as Akaraugo Ndigbo, “there’s something Obasanjo did on the day of the dedication and commissioning of the Noah’s Ark Church building that moved me to tears. I did not understand it, until I saw him off to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri.
“We were in the VIP lounge chatting and waiting for departure time of his private flight, he asked me, do you know why I knelt down before your 104 year old mother in the church twice ? I said no sir, I was telling her, mama, I am sincerely very sorry, out of ill advise, I would have destroyed her pride, the pride of Assemblies of God Church, the pride of Mbaise people, the pride of Imo State and Nigeria people, just for nothing. You see, I did it the first time and I did it again the second time, because my conscience was pricking me and I thank God I honoured your invitation.
“This he did in my village church and before the mammoth crowd. It could only be God”.
Recalled that in the year 2000, Obansajo was the civilian President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and out of mere envy, jealousness and tribalism, Akagburuonye as an Abuja based Real Estate guru was accused of illegal land grabbing in Abuja by the office of Alhaji Nasiru El-Rufai, the then Minister of Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, Abuja.
The accusation led to his arrest, humiliation and detention by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC for over 20 months with stringent bail conditions, and subsequently his prime properties valued several billions of Naira seized by the Federal Government based on the authorization of the Minister who personally vowed to deal with Akagburuonye by ensuring he lives in penury and agony.
Unfortunately, Obasanjo as the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces was highly interested in the case based on filthy lies, falsehood, blackmail and propaganda Akagburuonye detractors unleashed against him and his personality before the Presidency.
Akagburuonye also disclosed that Obasanjo openly told the unprecedented crowd, during the dedication and Commissioning of the Noah’s Ark Building, that they have two things in common, that the devil has been pricing them but he cannot buy them, because God has assignment for them and until they accomplished those assignments that nothing will happen to them
The case which is a legal reference point today, Engr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye Vs Federal Government of Nigeria lasted for over 20 years and right from High Court to Supreme Court, the suspect was declared innocent and the accusations nailed null and void with costs against the government of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Akagburuonye who’s the National Coordinator of Hope Rising For Imolites (Olile Anya Di) disclosed this recently at Assemblies of God Church, Uwani Enugu, (Church in the wilderness), during a thanks giving service he organized in appreciation to God for having been decorated as the National Patron of South East Communities Development Association, SECDA and South East Communities Development Association Cooperative Union in a well attended function at a prestigious hotel in Enugu.
He also informed that when he was preparing for Obasanjo to come and do the commissioning, that Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State told him point blank not to take for granted the may fact that Obasanjo is an Ex- President, that his paraphernalia of office must be observed and duely respected.
“I said yes, he asked me, are you prepared? I answered again, yes. He said, am going to charter flight for him and his entourage, I said no problem. You must do security clearance and every other things. I said God is in control, eventually he came to Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru Mbaise with Mr Peter Obi and to God be the glory they happily left without any challenge.
“Honestly, am proud member of Assemblies of God Church Nigeria and I have told God to use me in raising men and women as Kingdom Investors in Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, AGCN and beyond other churches.
“The Noah’s ark church building, I built for Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru Mbaise in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State is significant, because when the biblical Noah Ark was loading, God left the doors open for the lowest crawling animals to enter, so the Ark was there for long waiting who so ever wished to be saved.
Akagburuonye further said that he feels highly fulfilled for God using him to achieve something like that in his life time.
