FCT Board commences distribution of bags to returning pilgrims

By Daniel Tyokua

The Federal Capital Territory’s Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the distribution of 32-kilogram luggage bags to the pilgrims preparing to return from Saudi Arabia.

This is as officials involved in the distribution urged the pilgrims to comply with the established luggage policy to ensure smooth processing during their return.

The initiative came ahead of the resumption of return flights from Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, which the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) announced will begin on June 13, 2025.

The 32-kilogram bags are intended to standardize luggage allowances and help pilgrims avoid delay or penalties at departure and arrival points.

The board assured that the distribution exercise will continue until all registered pilgrims receive their bags, as part of efforts to facilitate a safe and orderly return for pilgrims after completing the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
