A former president of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon Kolade Alabi has expressed sadness over the death of ex President Muhammad Buhari.
In a statement, Alabi said: “it is with profound sadness that I join the people of Nigeria and world leaders in mourning the passing of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“His leadership and vision for Nigeria’s development will be deeply missed. President Buhari’s commitment to empowering local governments, as evident in his initiatives such as Executive Order 10 and advocacy for local government autonomy, has left a lasting impact on our nation,” the statement said.
Alabi went on to add that Buhari’s “leadership also fostered strong relationships with notable figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with whom he collaborated on key initiatives.
“President Buhari’s legacy extends beyond local governance, as he worked tirelessly to promote economic growth, security, and regional cooperation.
“May his legacy continue to inspire future generations, and may his soul rest in peace. I offer my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow Nigerians who are grieving this immense loss.
“May we find strength in the memories of his leadership and continue to work towards a brighter future for our nation,” Alabi stated.
