Domestic Violence: Police arrest woman for allegedly killing husband over food in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command, Fika Divisional Police Headquarters, has apprehended Hadiza Mamuda, 35, of Garin Abba Village, Fika LGA, for allegedly killing her husband following a heated argument over food. The suspect reportedly used a log of wood to fatally assault the victim.

Police say investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court subsequently.
The victim, a polygamous husband with two wives and five children, including the accused, leaves behind a grieving family.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, emphasizes the need for marital community intervention initiatives to address domestic violence and abuse. He urges religious leaders to intensify sensitization campaigns on the dangers of physical violence in marital affairs.

A statement yesterday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe state command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim assured that the Command remains committed to maintaining security and safety for all citizens.
