Police warns Yobe residents against diversion, selling of public property

The Yobe State Police Command has issued stern warning to residents of the state to desist from any attempts to divert, vandalize, or sell farm tools, equipment, and relief materials distributed by the state government.

It stated that such attempts will be met with stiff resistance.

A statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim and made available to newsmen, stated that “As directed by Yobe State Governor, Hon. Dr. Mai Mala Buni, during the distribution flags off, these items are meant to boost agricultural production, foster food security, and enhance citizens’ well-being”, they are not for sale, it emphasized.

It further stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, assured that anyone found flaunting government directives will be arrested and prosecuted.

The Command assured of it’s commitment to maintaining security, safety, and protection of life and property.

It advised residents to report incidents of diversion, vandalism, or illegal sale of government property.

It also availed the citizens of reliable telephone numbers to use and also advised citizens to visit the nearest Police station in case of reporting issues.
