World Youth Day 2025: Group Extols Uba Sani’s Youth Inclusiveness

As the world marks International Youth Day 2025, the Uba Sani Legacy Projects Solidarity Assembly (ULEPSA) has given plaudits to Senator Uba Sani for what it described as “an unprecedented commitment to youth empowerment through bold, targeted policies and programmes in Kaduna State”

In a statement released on Tuesday, the group said Uba Sani has “rewritten the playbook on youth inclusion,” rolling out initiatives that directly place young people at the heart of Kaduna’s economic, technological, and social transformation.

Among the flagship schemes is the Kaduna Youth Economic Empowerment Programme (K-YEEP), which has provided grants, mentorship, and capacity building to over 6,000 youth-led startups. The governor has also institutionalised youth voices through the creation of the Kaduna Youth Advisory Council, a platform for young leaders to influence government policy.

On skills development, Uba Sani has established Vocational & Technological Skills Acquisition Cities in Rigachikun, Samaru Kataf, and Soba, training 1,600 youths annually in ICT, AI, solar installation, welding, and other trades. This is complemented by Kaduna TechHUBs, which partner with Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and Huawei to train youths in cybersecurity, robotics, coding, and digital entrepreneurship.

In the area of sports, the Grassroots Sports Acceleration Initiative has seen the renovation of 18 community sports centres aimed at nurturing young athletic talent. The governor has also championed a Youth Security & Development Integration Plan, embedding young people in state security and development strategies.

Agriculture is not left out. Through the Agricultural Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme, 100 young people have already been trained in poultry and fish farming, with start-up capital provided, and plans are underway to train 1,000 more.

“With Governor Uba Sani, youth empowerment is not a campaign slogan but a working reality,” the group said. “This is why, on this World Youth Day, we celebrate him as one of Nigeria’s most youth-friendly leaders.”
