Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended government officials and political appointees for standing in solidarity with his family following the passing of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Governor Ododo described his late father as “a pillar of strength whose life was defined by humility, discipline and service to God and humanity.”
He acknowledged that the loss was deeply painful but said the overwhelming show of support from colleagues and well-wishers reflected the unity that binds Kogi people together.
According to the Governor, this sense of togetherness is in line with the vision set by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, since 2016, noting that the sympathy extended to his family transcended ethnic and religious divides.
“From the Deputy Governor to every official, you stood with my family when we needed it most. Your actions brought comfort in our grief and lightened the burden of this irreparable loss,” Ododo stated.
“On behalf of my family, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to all who identified with us. Your compassion is consoling, and may God Almighty bless you with wisdom, strength, and grace,” he added.
Governor Ododo pledged to continue fostering peace, unity, and harmony across the state, emphasizing that the solidarity shown during his bereavement is proof of the resilience of Kogi people when they stand together.
