Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajia Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has congratulated the people and government of Kogi State on the occasion of the state’s 34th anniversary, describing it as a celebration of resilience, progress, and visionary leadership.
In a goodwill message on Thursday, Dr. Aliyu emphasised that beyond the anniversary, the strides of the Confluence State has been “a reflection of the resilience, progress, and unity that have defined our journey since 1991.”
“Over the years, Kogi has continued to make remarkable strides in governance, development, and human capital, standing tall as a symbol of strength and potential in our nation,” she said.
She noted that despite challenges, the Confluence State has continued to rise. “As a State, we have defied every odd to emerge as a shining light, turning challenges into opportunities, setbacks into stepping stones, and diversity into strength,” Dr. Aliyu, who holds the title of Zinariya of Lokoja, said.
The former minister commended Governor Usman Ododo for what she described as his “visionary leadership, tireless efforts, and commitment to building on the legacies of his predecessors while steering the state towards greater heights.”
According to her, the governor’s focus on security, infrastructure, and the welfare of the people reflects the aspirations of citizens.
The Kogi princess further urged all indigenes to continue to foster unity and patriotism. “I call on all sons and daughters of Kogi State to continue to unite in love, peace, and patriotism, knowing that the future of our state depends on our collective dedication and support,” she stated.
She wished the state greater prosperity in the years ahead, saying, “Happy 34th anniversary to Kogi State. May our Confluence State continue to prosper, shine, and inspire generations to come.”
