Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commended the achievements of 11-year-old Miss Cara Victor Antai, who won a bronze medal at the prestigious Global Final 2 competition held at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Akpabio received Miss Antai at his country home in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, and praised her outstanding performance.

This was contained in a press release from Jackson Udom the Special Assistant on Media to the Senate President on Thursday.

The Senate President expressed his confidence in the potential of Nigerian youths, saying they have what it takes to rule the world if given the necessary encouragement and opportunities by relevant government agencies. “I congratulate you, my daughter, on this great feat. It shows that Nigerians, given the opportunities and encouragement by the relevant agencies of government, can achieve whatever they are out to achieve,” Akpabio said.

The Global Final 2 competition, which brought together over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, is a prestigious event that showcases the talents of young people from around the world. Miss Antai’s bronze medal win is a testament to her hard work and dedication, and a reflection of the potential of Nigerian youths to excel on the global stage.

Akpabio also commended Miss Antai’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. Antai, for their role in nurturing their daughter’s talent. He noted that the award is a demand for more hard work and encouraged Miss Antai to continue striving for excellence. The Senate President’s remarks underscore the importance of government support in unlocking the potential of Nigerian youths.

The TeenEagle 1 category, in which Miss Antai competed, tested both receptive skills (reading & listening) and productive skills (writing & speaking). Her outstanding performance earned her a bronze medal and a special award for “Best in Charisma.” The competition was a testament to the talent and dedication of young Nigerians, and a reminder of the country’s potential to produce world-class achievers with the right support and encouragement.
