The House of Representatives has issued a clarification regarding the discovery of an unidentified body around the National Assembly (N/Ass) Complex on Sunday, September 7, 2025. According to the Nigeria Police Force, the body was found at approximately 09:00 hours inside a red Peugeot 406 vehicle with registration number BWR-577 BF, parked outside the Annex Building Gate near the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Spokesman, House of Representatives on Tuesday.
The deceased, suspected to be a laborer at a construction site within the complex, was discovered in a sleeping position on the back seat of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the body was already in an advanced state of decomposition. The police have evacuated the remains to the mortuary and are working to establish the deceased’s identity and notify the family accordingly.
The National Assembly is in close contact with the relevant security and emergency agencies to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted. The House of Representatives commends the Nigeria Police Force for its swift response and will continue to monitor developments closely.
