Just in: Kaduna Police Arrest Facebook User Over ‘False, Malicious’ Claims Against Command

After hiding for a while, the Kaduna State Police Command has finally arrested and arraigned a social media user, Abubakar Idris — known on Facebook as “Comr. Danhabu” — over what authorities describe as cyberstalking, injurious falsehood, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the suspect sparked public tension on December 7, 2025, after posting claims in Hausa alleging that the Command had defied President Bola Tinubu’s directive by allowing VIPs in Kaduna to retain police orderlies.

The Commissioner of Police, determined to verify the allegations, reportedly issued multiple invitations to the suspect to provide evidence or credible information. The police say Idris ignored all invitations, confirming the post was malicious, false, and aimed at undermining both the CP and the integrity of the Command.

He was subsequently arrested, investigated, and charged in court.

The Command reiterated its commitment to professionalism and warned that peddling falsehood or using social media to incite the public will not be tolerated.
