Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd., operator of MMA2, has begun strategic engagements with airline partners to enhance passenger experience ahead of projected 2026 traffic growth.

The disclosure was made by Mr Remi Jibodu, Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Aeronautical and Cargo Services, in a statement issued Sunday in Lagos.

Jibodu said engagements began with management visits to United Nigeria Airlines, Aero Contractors and ValueJet Airlines.

He said passenger demand has evolved over two decades, prompting immediate and medium-term measures to stabilise operations and improve passenger experience.

“Immediate actions include mobile check-in counters at peak hours, stronger crowd control, and extra manpower across security and baggage handling.

“Medium-term initiatives include an IATA-aligned slot coordination system to balance demand with terminal and airside capacity,” he said.

He said plans would also cover self-check-in kiosks, apron decongestion, improved aircraft parking discipline, progressive apron fees, and baggage system upgrades.

“Proposed slot guidelines will be transparent, aligned with airline revenues, and focused on excellent passenger experience.

“Discussions addressed data transparency and coordinated communication, including a digital platform for real-time operational updates to stakeholders,” he said.

He said talks included partnerships with FRSC and LASAMTA to manage road traffic during peak passenger influx at the terminal.

Jibodu said executives discussed December peak performance and implications for future growth with airline chief executives.

“United Nigeria Airlines outlined 2026 fleet expansion, urging terminal capacity, coordination and infrastructure upgrades to keep pace with growth,” he said.

He said Aero Contractors and ValueJet echoed concerns, calling for effective crowd management and streamlined processes as traffic volumes rise.

The operator reaffirmed commitment to continuous engagement with airlines, regulators and stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, passenger-focused operations and sustainable growth at MMA2.
