The people of Agulu in Anaocha LGA of Anambra State has condemned the alleged assassination attempt on their son, Mr Peter Obi.
The people under the auspices of Agulu People’s Union (APU) expressed shock and outrage by the assassination attempt on the life of Mr. Peter Obi, a distinguished son of Agulu.
Mr Peter Obi was said to be attacked on February 24, 2026, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
In a statement Signed by Comrade Chukwudi Anazodo, National Public Relations Officer, Agulu People’s Union, Nigeria by the order of Dr.Sir Emmanuel Ibeneme
President-General(PG) on behalf of the entire Agulu community, strongly condemned the heinous act and demands a thorough investigation by the Federal Government of Nigeria and relevant security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible.
APU emphasized the importance of ensuring Mr. Obi’s safety and security, and called for urgent action to prevent such incidents in the future.
Meanwhile, the LP presidential candidate in the last general elections, Mr Peter Obi has applauded Nigerians for their concern over the assassination attempt on him.
