IWD: Akpabio celebrates Nigerian women, hails their resilience, sacrifices

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Nigerian women on the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD). This theme for this year’s celebration is: Rights, Justice, Action for All Women and Girls.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio praised Nigerian women for their sacrifices in building families and society.

The Senate President described mothers as the best gift God has given man, citing his own life as a testament to the wonders of women.

“Today, I join the globe to celebrate our mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, colleagues, and friends who wake up each day and work to make the world a better place,” Akpabio said.

He expressed gratitude for the love and care of his mother, acknowledging her sacrifices in raising him.

Akpabio commended Nigerian women for their strength, resilience, and contributions to the nation, saying their efforts are invaluable.

The Senate President reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to investing in women, promoting female participation in economic and political processes, aligning with this year’s theme, “Give and Gain”.

Akpabio wished all women a blessed and peaceful celebration, praying that their efforts would never go in vain.
