At the inauguration ceremony, yesterday at Government House, Makurdi, the Governor tasked the committee to review the mandates of existing MDAs, including ministries, bureaus, commissions and government-owned companies, and recommend appropriate alignments for effective supervision.
The Committee which is headed by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode, is to examine the roles of political appointees such as Special Advisers and Assistants, identify and address overlapping functions within the system.
“This is a very serious assignment and I urge you to take it very seriously. This idea is aimed at restoring standard operational procedures, strengthening institutional values, and enhancing the quality of personnel for optimal performance in the civil service”, he explained.
He described the assignment as a call to service and assured the committee of the government’s support.
Responding on behalf of members, Barr. Bernard Hom SAN appreciated the confidence reposed in them and pledged to carry out the assignment with diligence.
