KASUPDA: Kaduna ADC Falsehood Is Irresponsible — Group

The Kaduna Integrity Group (KIG) has slammed a faction of the ADC over what it described as a “deliberate false flag operation” aimed at misleading the public on a recent demolition of shops by the Nigeria Police Force.

In a strongly worded statement on Friday evening, signed by its Chairman, Comrade Abdulrazaq Musa, the group said viral claims linking the demolition to KASUPDA and the Kaduna State Government were “completely false, reckless and dangerously misleading.”

KIG said KASUPDA has since clarified that the demolition was carried out by the Nigeria Police Force on its own property, stressing that “at no point was KASUPDA involved in the exercise.”

The group accused the Kaduna ADC faction of spreading alarmist claims in a “desperate bid for media attention, noting that the narrative only led to “misplaced insults” against KASUPDA management and the Kaduna State APC.

Describing the ADC’s media event as a “kangaroo press conference,” KIG said unverified claims were presented as facts, misleading innocent shop owners and members of the public.

“By peddling falsehood, they misled innocent shop owners into directing anger at the wrong target,” the statement read.

“What followed was a wave of insults, outrage, and viral disinformation—all built on the lie by the ADC faction.”

KIG described the episode as “irresponsible politics taken too far,” warning that such conduct erodes public trust and fuels unnecessary tension.

“This was not a mistake. It was a reckless disregard for truth in the pursuit of cheap political relevance,” the group added.

The group urged political actors to verify facts before addressing the public, especially on sensitive matters capable of inciting unrest.

“Kaduna deserves facts, not fabricated outrage. The truth is simple: this was a Police action, on Police land, by the Police. Everything else is noise,” KIG stated.

The statement comes amid backlash on social media, where initial reports wrongly blamed KASUPDA for the demolition, sparking public anger just before official clarification emerged.
