The management of the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed, on Friday received the Special Adviser to the President on Power, Mr. Lanre Babalola, and his delegation at the organisation’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
The visit provided a platform for strategic discussions on the operations of the national grid, ongoing reforms in the power sector, and the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting NISO in the effective discharge of its mandate.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing grid reliability, improving operational efficiency, promoting transparency, and strengthening overall system stability within Nigeria’s electricity sector.
Speaking during the visit, Babalola stressed the need for prudent resource management, improved operational discipline, and sustained efforts to enhance grid performance while reducing system disturbances across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
He reaffirmed the critical role of NISO in advancing a more stable, resilient, and efficient power sector capable of meeting the nation’s growing electricity demands.
In his remarks, Mohammed assured the presidential adviser and his delegation of NISO’s unwavering commitment to improving grid reliability and achieving operational excellence.
He also pledged the organisation’s full support in advancing the shared objective of building a more robust, sustainable, and efficient electricity supply industry for the benefit of Nigerians.
The meeting underscored the Federal Government’s continued focus on power sector reforms and efforts to strengthen the operational framework of the national grid.
