Govt vows to deal with attackers of CoS to Gov Soludo

The Anambra State government has expressed shocked over the attack on the convoy of the Chief of Staff to the governor on Sunday night, May 31st, 2026, between 8:00pm and 9:00 pm at the Orumba North–Awka South borders, while returning from an official assignment.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor made available to journalists on Tuesday, he said that the attack was more than an attack on one person.

Mefor said that the attack was an attack on the peace, security, and democratic order of our state, as well as the Government and people of Anambra.

“Sadly, four people lost their lives and deserve justice. The Anambra State Government sends its deepest condolences to the families of those who died and share in their grief.” He said.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Information said emphatically that the police and other security agencies are working to find and to bring everyone involved in this evil act to justice.

“This isolated incident after more than one year of peace and security in the state will not affect our determination to remove all forms of crime from Anambra,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Commissioner of police, Ikioye Orutugu (CP) has given all formations and operational units of the command forty eight hours to apprehend the attackers responsible for the k!lling of police officers in the State.
