Yvonne Okeke, Personal Assistant to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has stepped in to settle outstanding medical bills for underprivileged patients receiving treatment at Maitama District Hospital, Abuja.
The intervention targeted vulnerable children, women, men and families facing financial hardship and unable to meet the cost of critical medical care.
By clearing the outstanding bills, Okeke helped ease the financial pressure on the affected families and enabled beneficiaries to continue accessing the medical attention they require.
For some of the families, the assistance came at a difficult moment when mounting hospital bills had added to the strain of dealing with illness and uncertainty.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing the intervention as timely support that brought relief at a period when they were struggling to raise funds for their treatment.
The initiative forms part of Okeke’s humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable people and providing practical assistance to families facing difficult circumstances.
Rather than limiting the intervention to Abuja, Okeke is planning to extend the support to other parts of the country, including Kaduna, Anambra and Lagos states.
The planned expansion is expected to widen access to similar assistance for vulnerable individuals and families who may be unable to afford essential medical care.
Through the intervention, Okeke is seeking to translate humanitarian concern into direct support for people in need, while encouraging greater attention to the challenges faced by families struggling with medical expenses.
