FrieslandCampina WAMCO reaffirms commitment to consumers

From John Silas, Lagos

As organisations worldwide commemorate Customer Service Week, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to putting consumers at the heart of its business and consistently going the extra mile to deliver quality dairy nutrition to Nigerian households.

This year’s Customer Service Week theme, “The Extra Mile,” reminds us of the importance of exceeding expectations, listening closely to consumers, and continuously seeking new ways to improve the customer experience.

For FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria, makers of Peak, Three Crowns, Coast, Olympic and Nunu Milk brands, the theme represents more than a celebration; it reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to understanding the evolving needs of Nigerian consumers and delivering products and experiences that add value to their everyday lives.

As a leading dairy company, the company recognises that its responsibility extends beyond providing milk and dairy products. It plays a role in the everyday routines of millions of Nigerians, from breakfast tables and family meals to moments of nourishment throughout the day.

Going the extra mile, therefore, means continually finding ways to provide quality dairy nutrition that meets consumers’ diverse needs and preferences across the country.

Speaking on the theme, Customer Care Manager, Odukoya Oluwatobi, emphasised that consumer care goes beyond resolving complaints or responding to enquiries, highlighting the importance of building meaningful and lasting relationships with consumers.

He noted that every consumer interaction presents an opportunity for the organisation to learn and improve, adding that consumer feedback plays an important role in helping the business remain relevant to the changing needs of Nigerian households.

The company’s Customer Service Week celebration, held at its head office, brought employees together to reflect on the role each individual and function plays in delivering a positive consumer experience.

Speaking at the internal engagement, Group Head, Brand Transformation and Digital Marketing, Bank of Industry, Jide Sipe, emphasised that the “Extra Mile” is not really about how far we go, but how much we care.

The celebration provided an opportunity to recognise the importance of collaboration, empathy, responsiveness, and accountability in ensuring that consumers remain at the centre of the organisation’s activities.

Also speaking at the celebration, the Marketing Director, Maureen Ifada, challenged the employees to look beyond simply meeting consumer expectations to embracing a culture of continuous improvement and higher standards.

“The Extra Mile” also represents the company’s broader commitment to fulfilling its purpose of delivering quality dairy nutrition and contributing to healthier and more nourished communities, she stated.

According to her, as consumer expectations continue to evolve, the company remains focused on listening to consumers, using their feedback and insights to drive continuous improvement, and ensuring that its products and services remain relevant to Nigerian households.
