Governor Bello Matawallen Maradun of Zamfara has reiterated the determination of hi administration towards alleviating the suffering of the internally displaced persons across the State.
The governor made this known in Gusau, capital of the State at the occasion of the official distribution of relief materials to hundreds of IDPs at the premises of the Social Development office in the State capital, Gusau.
According to the governor, who was also represented by the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Hajiya Fa’ika Ahmed, said his government will not allow to see people, not even IDPs, suffering while the alternative was availbe.
The materials given to them included food items and textile materials with aim of cushioning their hardship.
Matawallen disclosed also that government in collaboration with the ministry, the ministry that was created to take care of the problems of the people of such category in the society, will not relent in its efforts toward ensuring that all their demands are met. “There is no reason whatsoever, that as leaders who have been shouldered with responsibility of protecting the lives and properties, as well as wellbeing of the people to just fold our arms and allow them to suffer aand call ourselves leaders, no, it had never happened anywhere” the governor revealed Said he,”I implore all and sundry to contribute his quo his quota in this direction by assisting these people, it the duty of everyone of us individually or collectively” added Matawalle.
