The Chairman Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)Hon. Christopher Maikalangu has pledged to work with all religious leaders and bodies to promote peace and security in the council.
He disclosed this at his thank you tour of churches after his victory at the Appeal Tribunal, on Sunday, in ECWA Durumi 11.
The chairman noted that despite what he passed through in the hands of the opposition after his victory, it is only the Almighty God that granted him victory both at the poll and the Tribunal.
“We will do everything possible to secure the people of AMAC, because we can only grow and develop when there is absolute peace.
“We will continue to work with the religious bodies on issues about religion and I encourage you all to keep praying for Nigeria, our dear country.
“God’s kingdom can only come when people seek his will and do his will in their daily living, in their family and in our nation. My prayer is that God’s will be of utmost importance in our lives.”
The Council Chairman further advised residents of the Council to be tolerant, patient and respect the values of others.
Earlier, The pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All, (ECWA) Durumi 11, Rev. Elisha Dangami, enjoined all Christians to always pray for their leaders and neighbours.
