..As several decampees from LP, NNPP join PDP
Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has assured residents of Bauchi state that the newly discovered oil well in Bauchi and Gombe will be explored to the benefit of the people.
This is even as he renewed his commitment to revive small and medium scale enterprises by injecting $10 billion to create jobs for women and youths.
The former Vice President made the pledge on Tuesday in Bauchi when the Presidential campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party landed in the state.
While thanking the governor of the state, Bala Mohammed for receiving his team in the state, he urged voters in the state to vote for PDP in all the positions.
“I want to thank Gov. Bala Mohammed he has constructed roads, he has constructed schools, he has constructed hospitals and we want to commend him for all the things he has done and we want you to vote for him.
I have also pledged that the petroleum that has been discovered between Bauchi and Gombe will be exploited to the benefit of the people. I have also pledge to set aside $10 billion for youths and women to receive loans to set up their small and medium business enterprise for self-employment”.
Also speaking, National Chairman of the party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu said that Atiku will close the gap in the economy and ensure that industrial action does not take place in the University again.
He said, “Today, I bring you medicine for all your problems, medicine for hunger, medicine for insecurity, medicine for your children not going to school. That medicine is PDP under the leadership of President Atiku Abubakar.
“Today everybody who ran away is coming back. We have just received everybody from the Kwankwasiya, I don’t need to come to Bauchi and campaign”.
The Chairman of the Campaign Council and governor of Akwa Ibom Udom Emmanuel eulogized Atiku as the man with capacity to turn things around. He said that Atiku will be a leader that will be close to the achievement of late premier, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
“Here is a man who has the capacity to turn things around. A man who has the knowledge, very resourceful, a man who has the empathy to do things right. The man who can assemble the right team to put this economy in place. I can assure you that with Atiku Abubakar, you will not buy fuel again for N400 a litre, with Atiku Abububakar you will not trek again, with Atiku Abubakar, schools will not close, with Atiku Abubakar, our tertiary health institutions will no longer be consulting clinics, every thing will start to shift back to perfection.
“Let tell you that in the North East, that it has been demonstrated to the whole world that after Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the next man that will move this region is Atiku Abubakar.
“If you stand by him, if you support him, he will show you love, he will improve the economy of this country, he will revive the refineries, he will put our youths back to work, motorcycles will no longer cost 800,000, naira will no longer depreciate ad infinitum that we cannot even predict”.
The event was graced by several decampees including North East women leaders of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Labour Party (LP) that joined the PDP.
