The Chief Executive Officer, Blake Resort, Abuja, Uzochukwu Akunedozi has distributed food items and cash to about 200 widows in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of his 2023
birthday.
He said the initiative was part of activities to mark his birthday wth widows, whic in the past they thought they are forgotten.
The food items include bags of rice, vegetable oil, sachets of tomato paste, among others.
The items were presented to the widows on behalf of the celebrator, by
Distributing the items to the beneficiaries on behalf of the celebrant, Mr Yunusa Ahmadu, Senior Special Adviser to Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Community Development, on Monday, the donor said the initiative was to uplift the widows at his birthday.
“Mr Uzochukwu asked me to mobilise not less than 200 widows from different communities in the FCT to celebrate with him on the occasion of his birthday.
“With the little God has blessed him on our land, he has decided that he is going to touch lives of people.
“Presently, over 200 widows are here and we are trying to manage the situation because we know how the economy has been biting hard on the masses.
“However, everyone will go home with something, some will go back with cash grants, while others will go home with the food items,” he said.
On her part, Mrs Hanatu Garba, a widow, appreciated the celebrator and the organisers for remembering them and for their kind gesture.
She prayed for long life for the celebrator, adding that the food items she received would go a long way in her life and in the life of her children.
