Women Economic and Security Protection Group has commended the new President, Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa for hitting the ground running.
The Group in a press release on Tuesday said recent graduation of some youths trained on various vocational trades such as cosmetology, make-up, and gele tying, cosmetics, detergent production, and hairdressing and the presentation of food items to about 60 widows will continue to boost morale of troops engaged in operations across the country.
The training was sponsored by the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), in Abuja.
The press release signed by the Groups President, Fatima Bello noted that with DEPOWA’s gesture, troops will be rest assured that their sacrifices for peace to reign in the country is not in vain.
The group commended the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa for throwing his weight behind DEPOWA, an indication that he will continue his very cordial relationship with troops as seen during his time in the North-East.
According to the Group, “DEPOWA and the Chief of Defence Staff, Maj-Gen Gwabin Musa have sent a message to troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria that their sacrifices is well appreciated.
“It is also a message that widows and family members of departed personnel of the AFN will not be abandoned. We however continue to pray that our troops making sacrifices for peace and stability will return home safely after their stay in the battlefield.”
The group said the skills acquired by the members of graduands will enable them create a better future for themselves and their families.
