Biafra Government in Exile prepares for independence declaration convention

The Prime Minister of the Biafra Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, announced that all preparations are complete for the upcoming Declaration of the Restoration of Independence of Biafra Convention, set for 2024.

In a statement shared on his official X account Thursday, Ekpa invited Biafrans to participate in the event, which will take place from November 29 to December 3, 2024, in Lahti, Finland. He emphasized that the convention is a fundamental expression of Biafrans’ right to self-rule.

Ekpa noted that over 50 million Igbos have legally voted for the Biafra Referendum from the Nigerian government in recent months.

“On behalf of the Biafra Government (BRGIE), we are happy to invite you to the Declaration of the Restoration of Independence of Biafra Convention (DRIBC 2024), which will be held in Lahti, Finland, from the 29th of November till the 3rd of December 2024.

“All arrangements have been adequately made by the Biafra Government (BRGIE) for your accreditation to the event.

“You have served under Nigeria, and you are well aware that the establishment of Nigeria as an artificial experiment by the British has done nothing but the continuous violation of our fundamental basic human rights. For this reason, joining hands with your fellow Biafrans in exercising your inalienable rights to self-determination is a moral obligation and, most importantly, a fight for self-preservation.

“The steps we are taking for the actualisation of our independent state are by an internationally recognised way of referendum. Already well over 50 million Biafrans have cast their ballots, with more expected to vote in the homeland and diaspora. We are excited and hoping to welcome you to the convention,” he stated.

In related news, just a month ago, Ekpa encouraged elites from the South-East to engage in the upcoming Biafra declaration convention.
