South-South Forum applauds Matawalle for tackling oil theft, insecurity

The South-South Pan Nigerian Forum has expressed appreciation for Dr. Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, acknowledging his dedicated efforts to address the pressing issues of oil theft and insecurity across Nigeria.

In a statement by the forum’s spokesperson, Comrade Collins Emeka, the group commended Matawalle’s impactful approach to curbing the long-standing problem of oil theft in the Niger Delta, a challenge that has severely affected the region for years.

The forum expressed delight over Matawalle’s unwavering determination to halt illegal oil bunkering, which has weakened the local economy and contributed to Nigeria’s broader economic struggles.

According to the forum, only a leader who comprehends the serious consequences of oil theft on the people of the Niger Delta would demonstrate such dedication.

“The Minister’s efforts to fight oil bunkering since taking office reflect his genuine concern for the welfare of affected communities and the nation at large,” the statement read.

The group also acknowledged Matawalle’s broader efforts in tackling insecurity issues such as banditry and kidnapping, which have posed significant threats to Nigerian citizens. Since assuming his role, Matawalle has actively engaged in initiatives to address these pressing security challenges.

“His leadership has made a noticeable impact on reducing oil theft and protecting Nigeria’s waterways, a key factor in securing the nation’s economic and environmental future,” noted Dr. Dangana.

Nonetheless, the forum emphasized the need for further measures to address the persistent threat of kidnapping, which continues to instill fear across communities nationwide. They urged Matawalle and other authorities to increase their efforts to ensure the safety of all Nigerians.

The South-South Pan Nigerian Forum hailed Matawalle as one of the most effective ministers within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, lauding his commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s resources and promoting the well-being of its citizens.

The forum reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with the minister to further advance security and prosperity for the nation.
