The National Assembly Service Commission has approved the appointment of Mr. Kamoru Ogunlana as the substantive Clerk to the National Assembly. This decision follows the commission’s approval of the retirement of Mr. Sani Magaji Tambuwal.

The appointment was announced by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Engineer Ahmed Kadi Amshi, after the meeting held in Abuja. Mr. Ogunlana’s new role takes effect on February 2, 2025.

According to the commission, Mr. Ogunlana’s appointment recognizes his hard work and administrative competence. Engineer Amshi urged him to continue delivering exceptional service to justify the confidence placed in him.

Prior to his elevation, Mr. Ogunlana served as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly. His promotion ensures continuity and stability in the office.

In a separate letter, the commission acknowledged Mr. Tambuwal’s immense contributions to the National Assembly Service. As he proceeds on pre-retirement leave, Mr. Ogunlana will oversee the office’s affairs, working closely with Mr. Tambuwal to ensure a seamless transition.

Mr. Ogunlana will officially take over as the substantive Clerk to the National Assembly on February 2, 2025. This transition marks a new chapter in the National Assembly’s administration, with Mr. Ogunlana at the helm. ‎
